Denver, CO – East West Partners, a Denver-based developer devoted to building, selling, and managing high-quality real estate, announced today that they have broken ground and begun construction on The Coloradan, the first condominium building and the only opportunity to own a private residence in the Union Station neighborhood. Located at 1750 Wewatta Street, the $200 million, 334-unit condominium project is slated to be complete in September 2018.  Residences will be offered for sale in 2017 and will be sold by a dedicated Slifer, Smith & Frampton – Denver sales team.

“The Coloradan is the final piece of the Union Station puzzle – the last building to go vertical in the area surrounding the train platform and canopy and the only opportunity to own a piece of this newly iconic neighborhood,” said Chris Frampton, managing partner of East West Partners. “At The Coloradan, the City of Denver will really be the primary amenity as residents will literally be in the heart of everything when they step out the front door.”

The Coloradan’s 334 condominium residences will be comprised of:

  • 33 Inclusionary Housing Ordinance (IHO) residences with pricing set by the affordability requirements estimated to be in the mid to high $200Ks
  • 294 Studios, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom residences ranging from the high $200Ks to $1.3M;
  • 7 19th Floor Penthouse residences ranging from $1.6M to $3.0M.

The Coloradan will boast outstanding views of downtown and the mountains, and its design will be complimentary to the historic Union Station building. Approximately 19,000 square feet of ground floor retail will offer experience driven, high quality restaurants and shopping that will actively connect residents to the City as well as bring the spirit of the Union Station neighborhood into The Coloradan. Amenities include a rooftop pool deck and club room, residents’ lobby, fitness room and a residents’ garden as well as a 447-space parking garage. In addition, The Coloradan will be LEED Gold and Certified Healthy, a Denver-based certification program that recognizes exceptional projects that integrate healthy standards and encourage healthy lifestyles.

“As Coloradans ourselves, we know there is something truly unique about this city and we designed this project to celebrate everything we love about living downtown,” said Frampton. “From the location to the mountain views to the exceptional attention to the little details that matter, The Coloradan will embody the Colorado experience.  Our mission is to create a vibrant, fun, conscientious place to live that connects residents to their community and the future of Colorado in an authentically Denver way.”

The Coloradan is being constructed by GE Johnson Construction Company and project management services for the project are being provided by BuildMark.  The project architect is GBD based in Portland, Oregon.  Urban Legend Retail and The F+B Group will be curating and marketing the retail space.
